Hunting in the Chippawa

Dixon Lake Resort is deep in the Chippawa National Forest. With hunting off and on the Reservation. With trails into the back woods everywhere your next trophy is just behind the next tree.   The numbers of Bear sightings are up, the white tails are still aluding the hunters and the grouse are finally showing them selves, and ducks of all kinds.
 Its just around the corner,
so get your gun cleaned,
and give us a call.

215 lb 2008 Buck
Large Buck Winner at 215lbs in the big buck contest 2008

The Deer Season went very well. We saw a lot more nice bucks and fewer of the little guys that should be left to grow into the wall hangers of tomorrow. A lot of nice does were taken as well the biggest of these at 145lbs. All and all was a good hunt. I have reports of a lot of sighting of 6 points and 8 points that were left to grow another year THANKS GUYS these will be the trophies for next year or the year after.

Grouse hunting reports were good here in the Chippewa this year. With last year as such a disappointment it was great to see so many grouse hunters happy with there sightings and bag limits.

Ducks were fantastic this year. The big northern ducks   show up with the change in the weather.  There were plenty of ducks of all kinds to keep the hunters happy. So don’t pass us buy for next year.

Late for dinner. This boy ate well and lives to tell about it.

Bear hunting in the Chippewa. Baiting starts on the second weekend of August each year. You can find an area outfitter at  Castle-Creek Outfitters. John can get you all set up for the bears and we can take care of the lodging. As about the Bear Hunt Package.
